Health Care Services
St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Orthopedic Program
From mending sprained ankles to knee replacements, SJMO’s nationally rated orthopedics program does it all. SJMO’s Joint Care Center offers personalized programs for total knee or hip replacement. The Center serves as a model for hospitals across the country. SJMO also has a renowned Foot and Ankle program, which specializes in artificial ankle replacement, postural and post-traumatic deformities, diabetic conditions and arthritic foot care. In addition, the orthopedic program offers acute trauma care around the clock at the SJMO Emergency Center (EC). We promise that you’ll be seen by a physician and started on your treatment within 20 minutes.
Our orthopedic surgeons use cutting-edge procedures like kyphoplasty and minimally invasive surgery. Diagnostics such as MRI and the latest CT scanning equipment help our physicians get to the bottom of even the most complex problems. Our renowned rehabilitation programs help our patients quickly resume functional, active lifestyles. In fact, for many procedures, our recovery time is considerably less than the national averages. Some surgeons and patients opt to use our outpatient facility, the Alice Gustafson Surgical Center. The center offers the convenience of a freestanding clinic with the peace of mind that comes with being on a hospital campus.
