The St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) Department
of Anesthesiology is proficient and experienced in every aspect of modern
anesthesiology and is equipped with the most up-to-date equipment and
training required to perform this essential treatment. For example, SJMO
offers the highly regarded BIS Monitor, which precisely calculates the
depth of general anesthesia required in an individual patient in a thoroughly
non-invasive manner in order to maintain proper dosages and effectively,
safely and comfortably shorten recovery time.
Medical Services include general anesthesia, total intravenous and regional anesthesia for surgeries and other medical procedures, such as childbirth, and our specialists are experienced with all age-groups from seniors to very young children. SJMO also competently provides mild or deep sedation, if necessary, for procedures outside the operating room such as MRI, CT scan or gastroenterology procedures. In addition, our team offers extensive pain management services throughout your rehabilitation/recovery to address chronic or acute pain during an illness or after an operation.
SJMO partners with Bloomfield Anesthesia P.C. to offer our patients high-quality anesthesia services rated at or above national standards, with state-of-the-art equipment and a highly trained and experienced team. Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Bloomfield Anesthesia P.C., and along with our certified registered nurse anesthesiologists (CRNAs) work closely from the onset of treatment with our surgeons, obstetricians and other physicians.
